A major development focus for the first half of 2025 has been providing more flexible and customizable team management for admins, so that you can better use the platform to meet your company's unique needs. Here's a summary of what's now available to support this theme.
Categorize your Users in Company-Specific Ways by using Custom Fields
Custom Fields enable you to categorize users based on company-specific data, such as New Hires, Department, and Location, making it easier to group and locate users in Ascender. Once created, you can use these fields to help with:
- Managing users
- Selecting users for assignments
- Working with report data

Streamline Repeat Processes with Saved Views & Easy Export
Find yourself using the same filters or needing to frequently look up the same thing in the Users table? Next time you're done applying your filters, groupings, and column arrangements, save that view to use again later. The next time you need it you can quickly select it from the dropdown instead of starting from scratch each time.
Need to export a list of users? Once you have the view filtered and set up with the needed fields, select the Download/Export button to export the data as an xlsx file.
Bonus: Keep an Eye on Engagement with the Last Ascender Visit field
You may notice a new field in the Users tab called Last Ascender Visit. This field shows the last time that user visited any page in Ascender for any amount of time. This can be used for calculating metrics such as the number of users that have logged in within the last quarter.
